At the beginning of this important parliamentary term this event will provide MEPs and other attendees an overview of the rights of Future Generations as a frame to address long-term challenges in EU legislation.

Soon after the United Nations Summit of the Future, 20-23 September, and in the context of upcoming Commissioner-candidate hearings this event will act as a helpful briefing and introduction to the concept of Future Generations.

Objectives

  • Introduce the Future Generations agenda as a moral narrative for long-term policymaking in the next political cycle.
  • Provide specific and legal knowledge on addressing the topic as a MEP.
  • Create a space for discussion and collaboration between a variety of stakeholders.
