The Good Lobby was invited by the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) and the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) to hold a day-long workshop on public sector and civil society communication.
The workshop held by Alex Mäkela and Franz Waltenberger aimed to show how to use social media in communicating policy issues. The workshop was attended by senior management of the ODIHR, both from the policy team and communication teams.

Alexander Mäkelä (Finnish / Swedish) is the Head of Engagement at The Good Lobby based out of Brussels. He previously worked at Facebook with policy issues relating to Fake News, Illegal Content, Hate Speech, Blockchain, Elections, and more. In early 2019, Alexander released the free social media toolkit ‘Social Media for Change’ and has supported nearly 300 organizations (including NGOs, corporate clients, political parties, and European Institutions) with online communication and advocacy strategies.
Franz Waltenberger has studied at the Technical University of Munich, as well as the Higher School of Economics in Moscow and the Sciences Po Paris. He currently works as an Associate Content Producer at The Good Lobby and is an expert on emerging social media platforms.
