This month, I had the privilege of attending the Global Alliance of Impact Lawyers (GAIL) Summit, where I shared The Good Lobby’s perspective on pro bono as a powerful tool to help civil society organisations.

It was a truly inspiring experience, as lawyers from various backgrounds came together in London to discuss and propose actionable ideas. GAIL aims to accelerate the transition towards an economy in which government and businesses balance profit with societal and environmental impact – an ambition that we very much share!

The summit provided insights into the upcoming legal frameworks on sustainability matters, including the EU’s proposed . Katie Hill of B Lab discussed the matter in depth, with particular reference to global reach and legal developments on stakeholder governance. Our Managing Director, Kelsey Beltz, recently discussed this very topic, including Article 25, on a webinar for the Interdependence Coalition, which TGL co-founded.

It was also a pleasure to chat during the event with Kate Raworth from the Doughnut Economics Action Lab.

I would definitely recommend GAIL to other legal professionals looking to have a real impact for good. The participants explored how to leverage law to establish a fair, inclusive, and sustainable future.

We must move forward with determination and The Good Lobby is determined to lead!
