Maarten works as a policy researcher for The Good Lobby as of mid-2022. He represents The Good Lobby in the EU-funded Horizon 2020 project “PHOENIX – the Rise of Citizen Voices for a Greener Europe”. Within the project, The Good Lobby is the main responsible partner for organising dialogue among the various actors involved in implementing improved forms of political participation related to the green transition in their specific territories – a so-called inter-pilot dialogue. 

In addition to his work for The Good Lobby, Maarten works on a freelance basis for various other organisations and initiatives within the field of EU politics and democratic innovation. He worked previously for The ECI Campaign, Democracy International and Bertelsmann Stiftung.

Maarten holds a Master of Arts in Philosophy (research) from the University of Amsterdam.
