The Good Lobby is pleased to announce the official launch of The Good Lobby Climate Incubator on October 18, 2021 , an innovative 6-month programme designed to upskill and scale the advocacy strategies of grassroots climate movements, with a focus on Eastern, Central, and Southern Europe.
Supported by the European Climate Foundation and following an open call, the selected 10 organisations are: Animal Rebellion (EU), Bulgarian Fund for Women (Bulgaria), Ecogenia (Greece), Ecologistas en Accion (Spain), Energiaklub (Hungary), Estonian Green Movement (Estonia), Neo Npasenoi (Greece), European Union of Geosciences (EU), Youth and Environment Europe (EU)
The programme opened with a call to action from Professor Alberto Alemanno – The Good Lobby’s founder –, highlighting the need for the climate movement to move from mere mobilization to professionalized advocacy and lobbying engagement at the policy level.
“The climate movement is the most promising lever of change in an otherwise static environment. After raising awareness on the climate emergency, time has come to advocate for concrete policy solutions and hold political leaders accountable on their promises. That’s the mission of our pioneering The Good Lobby Climate Incubator”.
The Good Lobby Climate Incubator seeks to not only boost the advocacy and organisational capacities of social movements and organisations within the climate community, but ultimately to amplify their causes, increase their impact, and make their voices heard in the international policy process.
Through 10 virtual trainings and workshops, participants will have the chance to dive into and gain a first-hand experience on strategic litigation, coalition building, theory of change and other crucial issues during their Incubation. They will also benefit from one-on-one mentorship and project development from The Good Lobby’s network of legal and policy experts. The programme will run through March 2022.
