What does the distribution of European Parliament committees chairs and vice chairs reveal about the cordon sanitaire?
The European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR) obtained three committee chairs and ten vice-chair positions.
In contrast, the far-right groups, Patriots for Europe and Europe of Sovereign Nations, did not secure any chair or vice-chair positions in the European Parliament committees.
However, this legislature promises to be more fluid, and the agreements on committee leadership may not reflect how majorities will form on specific policy issues in the daily workings of the European Parliament.
